The Heart Behind Casa de Parteras
Casa de Parteras is more than a platform; it’s a growing home for community, connection, and culturally-rooted care.
Created for Latinx birth workers and the families they serve, this space exists to make support feel more accessible, more aligned, and more human.
Care that feels like home.
Rooted in Culture
Birth work has always been a part of our culture. It lives in our traditions, our families, and the ways we care for one another. Yet, many families are navigating systems that do not always reflect their values, language, or lived experiences.
Our Mission
Casa de Parteras exists to bridge that gap. Through education, shared resources, and intentional community-building, we support birth workers in expanding their knowledge, strengthening their businesses, and continuing their work with confidence, all while helping families connect with care that feels familiar, respectful, and deeply understood.
Recognizing the Gaps
Families are often left searching for care that feels aligned and truly understanding, while birth workers continue to do deeply impactful work without the visibility, resources, or community needed to sustain and grow their impact.
Culturally aligned care is not a luxury—it’s a necessity.
Why This Was Created
For too long, families have had to search for care that understands their culture, their values, and their lived experiences. At the same time, so many birth workers are doing powerful work without the visibility and support they deserve.
Casa de Parteras was created to bring these needs into one shared space where community, education, and visibility come together with intention.
Meet the Founder
Casa de Parteras was founded by Christine Becerra, a mother of three, full-spectrum doula, educator, and passionate advocate for culturally rooted support in the birth world.
After years of working closely with families, Christine saw a clear need for something more: support that feels both expert and familiar. She recognized how powerfully pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are shaped by culture, language, trust, and community, and how difficult it can be for families to find care that truly reflects those values.
She also saw the incredible work of Latina birth workers who deserved greater visibility, opportunity, and support. From that vision, Casa de Parteras was created: a space where families can connect with trusted professionals who understand their lived experiences, and where birth workers can grow, collaborate, and thrive.
Today, Casa de Parteras is a growing home for connection, education, and community honoring tradition while helping shape the future of maternal care.
Christine believes birth work is sacred, community is essential, and when we invest in those who care for families, entire generations benefit.
When birth workers are supported, families are better supported.
What This Is Becoming
As Casa de Parteras continues to grow, it will expand to offer more opportunities for learning, connection, and support while remaining rooted in the values of community, culture, and accessibility. This space is evolving with intention, shaped by the needs of those it serves.
